Brown County Sheriff’s Report: Sept. 20

  • On Tuesday, September 19, at 8:38 a.m., Deputy Ricky Herring, was dispatched via telephone, to contact a complainant in reference to a livestock call. Herring made contact with the complainant who reported that on September 14, a Brown heifer cow with horns ear tag #260 wondered up onto his property located at C.R. 423. Several attempts were made to locate an owner of the cow both by the BCSO and the complainant to no avail. An Estray report was made, and arrangements were made for the complainant to transport the cow to the Brown County Sheriff’s Office holding pens at a later date.
  • On Tuesday, September 19, Deputy Ira Smith was dispatched to County Road 569 for dogs fighting. When Deputy Smith arrived, the dogs had separated. Citations were issued to the owner for allowing Dogs to Run at Large and Unvaccinated Dogs.
  • On Tuesday, September 19, at approximately 4:53 p.m., Deputy Thomas Beloat with the Brown County Sheriff’s Office, was dispatched to a Hit and Run that could be handled by phone. Deputy Beloat made contact with the caller, information was gathered, and a report was made.
  • On Wednesday, September 20, at around 1:50 a.m., Deputy Toby Mathis conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for Expired Registration. A narcotics investigation was conducted and the driver was placed in custody for Possession of Controlled Substance. An arrest report was made.
