Bonita Faye Sheedy

sheedyBonita Faye Sheedy, age 70, of Brownwood passed from this life Monday evening at her home with her family close by her side.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Thursday in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Lewis of First United Methodist Church of Bangs officiating. Burial will follow in the Burkett Cemetery in Coleman County. Visitation will be held from 6 – 8 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.

She was born October 29, 1939 in Burkett, Texas the daughter of the late Thomas and Ruby Weaver Strickland. She attended school in Burkett and later graduated from the Coleman High School where she excelled in basketball. Her team won the state championship her senior year, something she was very proud of. She later married Michael V. Sheedy at Coleman on April 4, 1959. Being the wife of a military husband, they moved several times while he was in the service. She loved to bowl and bowled in several leagues and couples leagues. In 1978, she and her husband built a new house in Brownwood and returned. She worked in sales at TWC Molding for over 25 years and she and her husband were members of the Central United Methodist Church in Brownwood.
She is survived by her loving husband, Michael V. Sheedy of Brownwood

2 Daughters – Rhonda Sheedy and Michelle Sheedy both of Brownwood

Her Son – Michael T. Sheedy and wife Christy of Early

4 Grandchildren – Brittany Garza of Brownwood and
Blake, Kaitlin, and Cambry Sheedy all of Early

2 Sisters – Zelma Strickland of Beeville and Bobbie Strickland of Lake Brownwood

Seveal nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, 2 sisters, and a grandchild.
