Students across Brownwood ISD (BISD) celebrated National Grandparents Day on Thursday and Friday, September 7-8. Grandparents Day, which became an official holiday in 1978, is a national celebration to highlight the important bond between children and their grandparents.

Brownwood students celebrated by inviting their grandparents to come and eat with them in the schools’ cafeterias. Hundreds of grandparents participated and joined BISD elementary students to celebrate these special moments.
