Betty Lee Peel

PEELFuneral services for Betty Lee Peel, 67, of Brownwood , will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, March 2, in the Netherton Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Ruben Packer officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm on Saturday, March 1, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Peel passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2014, at Brownwood Regional Medical Center.

Betty Lee Holland was born on January 4, 1947, in Brownwood to Clarence Holland and Stella Marie Holland. She was raised and attended school in Brownwood and on May 10, 1962, she married Jerry Peel.

Those who knew Betty knew that she was a very nurturing person and had never met a stranger. She loved taking care of those around her and in her spare time, she enjoyed reading and watching old westerns.

Those left behind to cherish her memory is her husband, of 51 years, Jerry Peel of Brownwood; her children, Jerry Wayne Peel, Roy Eugene Peel, Sammy James Peel, and Danny Roy Peel, all of Brownwood and Terri Lin Peel, of Corpus Christi; grandchildren, Jeffrey Williams, Jeremy Peel, Brandi Burkett, Casey Peel, Brittani Hopkins, Amber Edmiston, Dustin Moorehead, Jennifer Wilkerson, John Raymond Wilkerson, Kimberly Wilkerson, Amanda Peel, Tiffany Peel and Tabitha Peel as well as numerous great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her sisters, Wanda Tiner of Rising Star, Brenda Holland of Oklahoma, and Maxine Spivey of Comanche; brothers, Elmer Holland of Rule and Tommy Holland of Brownwood and an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Stella Marie Holland; siblings Glenda Peel, Jimmy Dean Holland, Charles Wayne Holland, Joe Holland, Mary Agnes Minton; granddaughter, Nikki Peel; and great-grandchildren, John Paul Solis Jr., and Nicholas Wesley Peel.
