Born September 14, 1941, to Pauline Dimas Tellez and Juan Luego Tellez in Brady, Texas. Raymond graduated from Brady High School in 1960. After high school he had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Sarah Gomez. It was love at first sight, he leaned over to his friend and said, “That’s the girl I’m going to marry some day”.

It was a fast love, and they were married September 3, 1966, and they fell one month short of their 57th anniversary. Following their marriage they had three beautiful girls, Vanessa, Graciella, and Katheryn. It was as if he was always meant to be a girl dad, those three were his pride and joys. He spent all his time encouraging them to excel in their endeavors. He coached them, and many of the cousins, in soccer, softball, basketball, and in life. He led them spiritually by becoming a Youth Leader at Saint Mary’s and took them to search and other spiritual retreats. He always kept a positive outlook on life. He was always joking and had a deep appreciation for music, especially Elvis, and football, Go Cowboys!

Raymond’s motto in life was ” Don’t lie, don’t cheat or steal and your life will be easy sailing”. He lived a fairly enchanted life; he enjoyed quietly sitting outside with a cup of coffee in the morning seeing all the birds fly by and the wind rustling the leaves on the trees. He would also reminisce and tell stories about his time on the ranch with his dad and grandfather and his adventures as a cowboy.

Raymond leaves behind to treasure his memory his beautiful wife Sarah Gomez Tellez, three daughters Vanessa and spouse Tory Woolf, Graciella Leos, and Katheryn Tellez, 6 grandchildren Marcus Tellez, Angelica Sandoval, Cameron and Erin Dyer, Sarah and Victoria Leos, and 12 great grandchildren. He is also survived by sister-in-law Dora Vasquez, Mary Jane Boisse and spouse Ernest, Ventura and Alex Estrada, Elizabeth Garcia, Angie Gomez, Francis Tellez and brother-in-law David Gomez and numerous nieces and nephews.

Raymond was preceded in his death by his parents Pauline and Juan Tellez, his brother Pete Tellez, and an infant sister Mercedes Tellez, his mother and father-in-law Sarah Romero Gomez and Ted Gomez Sr. and his sister-in-law Deloris Romero Rodriquez and spouse Tito, and brother-in-law Ted Gomez jr. and Fred Vasquez.

We would also like to offer a special thank you to Solaris Hospice of Brownwood and the Therapy staff at the Pecan Bayou Nursing home for all of the help and care they provided to our family during this difficult time.
