In the post, Brandstetter thanked Vernon head coach Devin McIntosh for the opportunity to play at the next level, and his parents and coaches for “believing in me and helping me along my journey.”

Brandstetter was Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association Class 4A All-State Team as a third-team pitcher following his junior season as he posted a 7-3 record with 2 saves, a 1.14 ERA, 99 strikeouts and 22 walks in 61.2 innings of action. At the plate, Brandstetter hit .376 with 2 home runs, 21 RBIs, 12 doubles and a triple.
