Glory 12U Potts placed 1st in the gold bracket at the NCS Texas State Championship this weekend.

The team went undefeated in bracket winning the semi-final game and the championship game by only 1 run each. The competition was stout and the heat was brutal but Glory rose to the occasion. Every player on the team came through in crucial moments.

Reagan Fletcher led the team offensively, batting .700 for the weekend. Emma Soto was right behind her at .625. Audrey Keas and Sophia Rameriz both batted .500. Lynlee Richmon used her speed to courtesy run for our pitchers and catchers and scored an important run in the semi final game. Sunny Groom pitched two solid innings in the semi final game holding off our opponents to allow Glory to pull ahead. Paisley Hill held it down at first base and also laid down a beautiful bunt to advance the winning run to third in the final inning of the championship game. Jaime Lyon did her job perfectly at second base, center field, and at the plate. Lyla Potts tossed a no hitter in our first bracket game sending the 3rd place team to the losers bracket. She also closed the semi final game and threw the championship game keeping our opponents batting average to just .091, and the defense did not a commit an error. Avery Stifflemire had some big hits including a single to drive in the winning run in the championship game.

Audrey Keas was named tournament MVP for her grit, work behind the plate and clutch hit to drive in 2 runs in the championship game.

Glory 12u Potts will conclude their season in Harker Heights in 2 weeks.
