photogrouplogoThe Brownwood Art Association and their Photo Group will be offering some presentations on Saturday to help photographers not only take better photos, but more easily edit them as well.

The Brownwood Art Association’s Photo Group will hold a class on basic photography on Saturday, January 11th.  Local photographer Kim Hurt will be teaching the class for anyone interested in getting started in photography or just wants to have a refresher course in the basics of how to use a camera.  The class will start at 10:00 AM at the Art Center, 215 Fisk Avenue, Brownwood, TX.

Kim Hurt is a professional photographer and the owner of Tilt Shift Studios in Brownwood.  She is a graduate of Abilene Christian University.

For more information about the Brownwood Art Association Photo Group…please contact: Kim Hurt, (325) 200-6404, email: kim@tiltshiftstudios.com or Craig Seger, (325) 998-0084 or (325) 784-7080, email: kbbcraigs@yahoo.com.

ArtAssociationLogoAlso on Saturday, Sulema Orr will give a presentation on Photoshop for the Brownwood Art Association’s regular monthly meeting at 1:30 PM at the Art Center, 215 Fisk Avenue in Brownwood. The presentation will include tips on layers, color, collage and filters.  The presentation is free and open to the public.

In 2010, Orr opened her photography studio, Sulema Orr Photography at 311 N. Center in Brownwood.  Portraits are her main interest but she enjoys a wide variety of subject matter and carries her camera with her 24/7, as well as a sketchbook.

Her awards include Honorable Mention in the Stars of Texas Juried Exhibition, first place in the first Stars of Texas Shoot Out in 2013. Orr was recently voted Artist of the Year for 2014 by the Brownwood Art Association, an honor she feels privileged to hold.

The many art classes and events offered throughout the year by the association have been an important source of inspiration for Sulema.

Orr can be contacted by Facebook, Linkedin and at Sulemaorrphotograpy.com

Monthly demonstrations are held on the second Saturday of the month covering a different topic at the Art Center.
