Travis Earle Vossler, age 85 of Brownwood, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at a local nursing home.

A Celebration of Life for Travis will be at 10:00 am on Friday, May 26, 2023, at First Christian Church (2411 Coggin Avenue) in Brownwood, with Pastor Sterling Lentz officiating. Interment will be private at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Travis was born on May 22, 1937, to Oatha Odell Vossler and Beatrice (Young) Vossler in Tarrant County. He married Lavon Thoroughman in 1984 in Odessa. Travis was an Army veteran and served in the Korean War. He loved team roping and bass fishing. He also loved to prepare Communion for church.

Known for being a perfectionist, Travis liked things a certain way and was willing to work hard to have it that way. He loved his grandchildren and even referred to his great grandchildren as “the greats.” He had a wonderful sense of humor and was always a helpful neighbor in his community.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Lavon Vossler; son, Kevin Vossler; daughter, Nikki Vossler-Natvig and husband Todd; daughter, LeeAnn McClure and husband Michael; son, Brian Vossler and wife Michelle; son, Chad Smith and wife Genvieve; grandchildren, Connor Natvig, Cody James and wife Teresa, Bryson Vossler and girlfriend Kelsey Johnson-Gore, and Ewan Smith; great grandchildren, Colten, Casen, and Adalee James.

Online condolences for the family can be made online at www.blaylockfuneralhome.com.
