Multiple Brown County fire departments responded to a structure in Blanket Tuesday night. The following information was provided by the Early Fire Department

At 9:20 p.m., the Blanket and Early fire departments were dispatched to a structure fire in Blanket at 10900 FM 1467 North. Dispatch advised a shed was on fire next to a house.

At 9:23 p.m. firefighters were advised now the house and the shed were on fire which was being fueled by a very large amount of gasoline in the shed. At this time Brownwood, Zephyr, May and Comanche fire departments were requested for mutual aid.

At 9:32 p.m., Blanket and Early units arrived on scene to find a large shed fully involved and the house in immediate danger but not on fire at the time. Units began a defensive fire attack with exposure protection.

At 10:07 p.m., the fire was under control. The large shed was a total loss but the house had very minimum damage. The fire is still under investigation.

Blanket, Early, Brownwood, May, Zephyr, and Comanche fire departments, the Brown County Sheriff’s Office, AMR Ambulance Service, and Comanche County COOP all responded.
