Ada Margarette Tiemann, 89, of Midland and Goldthwaite, Texas was received into eternal life by the loving arms of Jesus on April 13, 2023. Funeral services will be held April 15, at 2:00 pm at Zion Lutheran Church in Priddy, Texas with Pastor Mark Schimmel officiating. Burial will follow at St. John’s Cemetery.

Margarette, as she was known to family and friends, was born January 17, 1934 in Lockney, Texas to William E. Sherrill and Dovie Sherrill. She moved to California from Duncan, Oklahoma at the age of 14 and graduated from Shafter High School.

Margarette married the love of her life, Melvin Tiemann, on August 4, 1961 in Rankin, Texas. She worked for Rankin Independent School District for 24 years. She and Melvin moved to Goldthwaite, Texas in 1984 where she resided until 2021 when she moved to Midland, Texas to be closer to family.

Survivors include her daughter, Jamie Moerbe and husband Malcom of Midland; sister, Kay Nixon and husband Bill Nixon of Anaheim, California; brother Jackie Sherrill and wife Peggy of Wimberley; 2 granddaughters, Lanie Spears and husband Tanner of Comanche; Lindsie Swarb and husband Cameron of Monahans; 3 great grandchildren, Kartyr and Kallaway Swarb of Monahans and Britt Spears of Comanche; along with several nieces and nephews.

Margarette was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Melvin of 32 years and brothers Bill Sherrill, John Sherrill and James “Sonny” Sherrill, and sisters Geraldine Martin and Betty Stanley.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to Zion Lutheran Church in Priddy, Texas.

“Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.”

Matthew 11:28
