The Brownwood ice skating rink that has been located in the parking lot of the Depot Complex this past week will reopen Sunday, November 8th for a bonus day of ice skating.

The rink was scheduled to be open Friday and Saturday, but because of the icy road conditions, the rink was closed and the Christmas Under the Stars Festival was canceled.

“With the weather improving Sunday, we wanted to give the community one more chance to ice skate this season,” said Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce Marketing Manager Ray Tipton. “Since we had to close unexpectedly on Friday and Saturday, we wanted to open the rink for a bonus day on Sunday.”

The rink will be open on Sunday from 2 PM – 6 PM.  Cost to skate is $2 per person for a 20 minute session and ice skates are available at no additional cost.

The public is invited to skate on the synthetic ice rink which is located in the parking lot of the Depot Complex at 600 E. Depot Street.

The ice rink is sponsored by KTAB-TV, TexasBank, Lee Hoffpauir Chevrolet Buick, Walmart, Guardian EMS, AT&T and Brownwood Women’s Clinic.
