Mike Bannister, age 64, of Brownwood, went to be with his loving savior on Saturday, April 1, 2023.

Mike was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. He built a home in which Christ was the cornerstone. He served the Lord for many years as a song leader, deacon and later as an elder for the 4th and Stewart church of Christ. He built his professional career beginning at Zales where he worked his way up to be the youngest store manager in the company and then later at 3M in Brownwood, where he worked in many different roles. He retired from 3M in June of 2021 with 36 years of service.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 44 years Patti Bannister of Brownwood, daughter and son-in- law Blake and Micah Lampson and granddaughter Addison Lampson of Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania, father Gene Bannister of Brownwood; brother and sister-in-law Mark and Tammy Bannister of Brownwood; their children Courtney Bannister-Feist and her husband Brandon of Granbury, Chance Bannister and Jackee Salazar and their daughter of Brownwood, and Kynadee Bannister of Brownwood; brother- in-law Steve Nolen and his son James Nolen of Brownwood; brother-in-law Michael Nolen and his wife Karen and their children Christopher, Jeffery, and Mellissa Nolen of Hewitt; as well as many cousins and friends.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter Addi. He enjoyed working with computers and enjoyed driving his Corvette through the country side. He spent his time in retirement spending quality time with his family, especially his beloved wife. He will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched but even in our sorrow we rejoice because he has achieved the ultimate goal and is at home with Jesus Christ our Savior.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, April 8, 2023, at the Austin Avenue Church of Christ.  Burial will follow in Eastlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Heartland Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.

Condolences, memories, and tributes can offered to the Bannister family at heartlandfuneralhome.com.
