EASTLAND – The Early Longhorns pushed their District 8-3A win streak to five games with a 15-4 road triumph over the Eastland Maverick Friday.

Early (10-5, 5-1) raced out to a 7-0 lead in the top of the first inning, led 9-2 after two frames, and opened a 15-2 cushion through four before Eastland tacked on its final two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.

The Longhorns finished with nine hits, four walks and Eastland committed eight errors.

For Early, Cooper Jacobs tallied three hits – including a triple – with a pair of RBIs; Ethan Pallette doubled and drove in two; Gavin Sanders singled and knocked in a pair; Jeremy Brown, Caleb McCullough and Caydon Laird each recorded one hit with one RBI; John-Stewart Gordon singled; and J.D. Nowell was credited with an RBI.
