Six Brownwood Lady Lions earn all-district basketball accolades from the coaches of 6-4A, and 11 members of the program earned academic all-district honors.

A pair of Lady Lions received superlative awards as freshman Hannah Deen was named Co-Newcomer of the Year, along with Glen Rose’s BrookLynn Peterson, and junior Kimber Green was tabbed Co-Sixth Man of the year, along with the Stephenville’s Brinley Hall.

Landing on the first team for the Lady Lions was senior Mady Pyle, while freshman Icess Hall was a second-team selection.

Receiving honorable mention were senior Kassidy Wooten and sophomore Sidney Windham.

Named to the academic all-district team from Brownwood were Pyle, Wooten, Green, Windham, Deen, Hall, Olivia Ringer, Miranda Northcutt, Kate Tindol, Jesslyn Sliger, and Talia Craff.

Glen Rose post Aimee Flippen was selected the district’s MVP as she helped lead the Lady Tigers to the state tournament. Other superlative winners included Co-Offensive MVPs Grace Booth and Alexis Rynders of Glen Rose; Co-Defensive MVPs Mya Wilson of Stephenville and Lily Melton of Glen Rose; and Glen Rose’s Ramsey Ghazal was chosen Coach of the Year.

The rest of the first team featured Sam Ellenberger and Abigale Bunt from Glen Rose; Kate Bradshaw and Kahela Samples from Mineral Wells; and Lillie Skiles and Lucy Espinoza from Stephenville.

Rounding out the second team were Abigail Staples, Jewell Morris, and Aubrey Schuelke from Glen Rose; Emilee Gordy from Graham; Cadence Colwell and Lily Gillen from Mineral Wells; and Audrey Brandon and Marin Copeland from Stephenville.

The Lady Lions finished with a 17-19 record and finished third in 6-4A behind state-ranked Glen Rose and Stephenville, and advanced to the bi-district round of the playoffs in head coach Heather Hohertz’s 14th season.
