Reminder: Boy Scouts Texas Trails Council’s 2013 Distinguished Citizens Award Dinner Set for November 12th

RexTackettRadioHallOfFameThe Boy Scouts of America, Texas Trails Council will host its annual dinner and will honor Brownwood business owner Rex Tackett on November 12th as the 2013 distinguished citizen.

The honor will be presented to Tackett at the Boy Scout’s 2013 Distinguished Citizens Award Dinner that will be held in Brownwood.  The award presentation will be held Tuesday, November 12th with a dinner at 7:00 p.m. at Coggin Avenue Baptist Church.

Sponsorship into and tickets to the event are available by emailing Laura Moore at [email protected].

Tackett is owner/partner of Wendlee Broadcasting with stations KXYL-AM/FM, KQBZ-FM, and KSTA-AM in Brownwood and Coleman.

Tackett’s radio career has spanned 44 years working in sales, sales management, general management and ownership of Top 40, Album Rock, Classic Rock, News/Talk, Sports, Rap, Urban Gold, Gospel, Country and Adult Contemporary formatted radio stations.

Rex has served on the boards of the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce, Aldersgate Enrichment Center, the Brownwood Kiwanis Club, the Association for Retarded Citizens, the Boy Scouts of America Texas Trails Council, and helped establish the Kiwanis Aktion Club. Rex was named “Kiwanian of the Year” in 2008.
