Carolyn Sue Jackson, age 76 of Brownwood passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023 at her home. Sue was born on Sunday, January 27, 1946 in Shoals, Indiana to Joseph Talmage Gray and Iola Cason.

Sue married the love of her life, Donald Rowe Jackson in 1963 in Mexico. They began their lives together and were blessed with 5 children, Alicia, Joseph, Natalie, Robert and Amanda. Donald and Sue owned the Coldwater Cattle Company, and she was the first female Mayor in the history of Coleman, Texas.

Sue had a love for nature. There wasn’t an animal she didn’t love and more often she would rescue them all. Sue was an avid reader and bird watcher. But most of all Sue loved her family dearly.

Sue is survived by her children, Alicia Mangham and husband Joseph, Natalie Gault, Robert Stephen Jackson and wife Brandi, Amanda Borens and husband Richard; grandchildren, Joshua Mangham, Robert Harley Welch, Stormy Mangham, Jessica Huggins, Beau Gault, Natasha Chambers, Tabatha Gault, Joseph Jackson, Trey Jackson, Aurie Little, Journey Buitron, Parker Jackson, Tristan Buitron, Trinity Jackson and Jack Borens; 16 great-grandchildren and 5 great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Rowe Jackson; son Joseph Donald Jackson; parents, Joseph Talmage Gray and Iola Cason.

We will have a celebration of her life to share some of our favorite memories, our stories, to laugh, to cry and remember a wonderful person who will be greatly missed. Saturday January 21, 2023 @ 3:00PM Location will be @ J-R’s Social Club on Hwy 67/84 between Bangs and Brownwood. All friends and family welcome.
