Brown County Sheriff’s Report: Jan. 13

  • On Tuesday, January 10, Lt. Pete Bastardo was dispatched to the intersection of FM 45 and Hwy 377 South. This was in regard to theft of copper. Upon arrival, contact was made with a TXDOT worker, who stated five illumination poles had been broken into and copper wire removed from each one of them. Information was gathered for a report. There are no suspects to list.
  • On Tuesday, January 10, at approximately 11:44 a.m. Deputy Ira Smith was dispatched to Old Lane for a deceased person report, who was found deceased at the home. Deputy Smith investigated the death, and it was determined they died of natural causes.
  • On Tuesday, January 10, at about 11:52 a.m., Deputy Chris Williamson was dispatched to an animal complaint call, located at Lindley St., May, TX. A complainant stated a suspect’s dog was in the fenced off portion of his property, chasing his goats. Information was collected, and a report was made.
  • On Tuesday, January 10, Deputy Chris Williamson was dispatched to an animal cruelty call, located at Long View Dr., Brownwood, TX. A complainant stated a white single cab Dodge pickup truck drove by their residence, with a small puppy following behind. Food and water were given to the dog before Deputy Williamson transported the dog to the Corinne T. Smith Center.
  • On Wednesday, January 11, at 9:37 p.m., Sgt Jayson Bastardo was dispatched a call in regard to theft, which could be handled by public service. Contact was made with a complainant who stated she believed her neighbor had stolen an item from her property. Information was gathered, and a report was taken.
  • On Wednesday, January 11, Deputy Joe Thomas was dispatched to Slakes Dr., in the Oak Point subdivision. This was in reference to a report of a theft. The caller advised his travel trailer was stolen from his property, and he had texts from a female claiming the trailer had been on her property. A report was made.
  • On Thursday, January 12, Deputy Chris Williamson was dispatched to a suspicious call located at Fox Hollow Ln, Early, TX. A victim’s fence was cut, and person(s) got onto her property and moved some of the victim’s things around. Information was taken, and a report was made.
