Howard Payne sophomore guard Brandon Irwin earned dual honors this week as he was named as this week’s American Southwest Conference West Division player of the week as well as earning a spot on D3hoop.com Team of the Week.

Irwin averaged 27.6 points per game in wins against Schreiner and Texas Lutheran. He scored 30 on 83.3 percent shooting against Schreiner and hit key free throws down the stretch to secure the win. Brandon then scored 25 against Texas Lutheran. He shot 19-for-29 from the floor and 14-for-17 from the line in the two games.

He is third in the league in scoring at 18.5 points per game.
