Tuesday, January 31, Brookesmith Independent School District will host the Brookesmith School PARENT INFORMATION AND RESOURCE FAIR. Admission to the fair is free and is open to all Brown County residents. The fair will be held in the old Brookesmith ISD gymnasium 6:00-9:00 p.m. and will run concurrently with the varsity basketball game between Richland Springs and Brookesmith.

The purpose of the Fair is to make families aware of local and Brown County resources available to them. Attendees will have the opportunity to visit with representatives and learn which programs are available, the eligibility criteria for each and where to obtain additional information.

School specialists in transition services will also be on hand. They can help families prepare and plan for life after high school. They can help students find entry level jobs, as well as vocational and educational opportunities.

Organizations that have committed to date include Texas A&M Agri-Life, Center for Life Resources, Medicaid STAR Kids, 4H, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) and many more pending. Topics to be covered include mental health, medical and dental services.

If your organization would like to reserve a booth, or if you would like additional information, please call Brookesmith Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) Lisa Rodgers at 325-643-3023, extension 133, or e-mail her at lisa.rodgers@brookesmithisd.net.
