Catherine “MeMaw” Parks, age 73, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022, at a local nursing facility.

Celebration of Life for Catherine will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at the Bangs Cemetery Tabernacle with Don Armstrong officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Catherine was born on July 4, 1949, to Robert Albaugh and Dorthy (Kirby) Albaugh, in Coleman where she lived until she was 16 years old. She married Delmer Lee Parks on June 11, 1965, at Coleman’s Hords Creek Lake. They were married 50 years and were blessed with five children. Catherine was affectionally known as “MeMaw” by all. She loved all flowers, arts and crafts, and DIY projects.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Melissa Creek of Weslaco, Rick Parks and wife Alicia of Shamrock; grandchildren, Andrew, Jamie, Clayton, Courtlyn, Connor, Camron, Logan, Kelly, Zane, Tulsa, and Michael; and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous kids and grandkids adopted-in-love; nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends including her very special friend, Rhonda Wells.

She was preceded in death her husband, Delmer Lee Parks; daughter, Valerie Kay Fushee; 2 sons, Billy Michael Parks and Elmer Lee Parks; sister, Patricia Ann New; and her parents, Robert and Dorthy.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the Corrine T. Smith Animal Center (3016 Milam Drive, Brownwood, Texas 76801).

Online condolences for the family can be made at www.blaylockfuneralhome.com.
