Brownwood City Council Agenda Special Called Meeting 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 17, 2013 Council Chambers, City Hall 501 Center Avenue, Brownwood, Texas

The City Council of the City of Brownwood, Texas, reserves the right to meet in closed, executive session on any of the items listed below should the need arise and if authorized by Title 5, Chapter 551, of the Texas Government Code.

The City Council may deliberate and/or act on the following items:

A. Recovery Month -Center for Life Resources

6. Citizen Presentations Any citizen who desires to address the City Council on a matter not included on the agenda may do so at this time. The City Council may not deliberate on items presented under this agenda item. To comply with the provisions of the Open Meetings Act, the Council respectfully requests that prior to addressing Council that each person submit a citizen presentation form that is located at the entryway to the Council Chambers, stating your name, address, and topic of presentation. All presentations are subject to a five (5) minute time limit.

A. Consider awarding the bid for the construction of the new Central Fire Station to Waldrop Construction.

8. Ordinances and Resolutions

A. Consider an Ordinance on first reading amending section 74-311 Towing Charges.

B. Consider an Ordinance on first reading amending section 70-273 making it unlawful to prevent access to City water meters.

C. Consider an Ordinance on first reading adopting the FY 2013/2014 City of Brownwood annual budget.

D. Consider an Ordinance on first reading levying taxes for the year 2013 for the City of Brownwood.

E. Consider an Ordinance on first reading setting utility rates for FY 2013/2014 for the City of Brownwood.

9. Consent Agenda

A. Consider an Ordinance on first reading setting fees, rentals, licenses and permits for FY 2013/2014 for the City of Brownwood.

B. Consider a lease extension between Pecan Valley Regional Domestic Violence Shelter, Inc. dba: the Ark and the City of Brownwood 1Brownwood Industrial Foundation. Inc. for property located at 100 Melwood as well as property located at the 500 block of West Baker.

10. Appointments

A. Consider Mayoral re-appointments to the Brownwood Housing Authority.
