This month’s spotlight teacher is Robin Smith. Ms. Smith is a Special Education teacher at Woodland Heights Elementary. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Houston and is a Texas certified teacher (Special Education EC-12, Generalist EC-6, and ESL Supplemental EC-12).
This is Ms. Smith’s first year with Brownwood ISD. Ms. Smith has been an great asset to Woodland from day one! She collaborates with teachers and administration on the best plans for student success, and her students have made remarkable growth in a very short amount of time. She is kind, caring, and very focused and driven to see her students succeed in all areas. She has great rapport with staff and parents, which enhances all that she does.
We are excited to see everything this year brings with Ms. Smith as a part of Team Woodland Heights! Brownwood ISD is grateful to have teachers like Ms. Smith who go the extra mile with staff, students, and parents to build quality relationships that support and raise student academic achievement.
Our staff spotlight honoree for the month is Rebecca Cornelius. Ms. Cornelius works in the School Nutrition Department as the Kitchen Manager at Brownwood High School. She also oversees Central Support Center, DAEP, and BAHS lunch and special catering events.
Ms. Cornelius has been in the Food Service industry as a manager for 18 years and has strengthened her team with exemplary contributions and skill sets. Ms. Cornelius works hard every day demonstrating the Nutrition Department core values of putting kids and food first. She understands and fulfills job commitments by adapting and evolving during challenging times and ensuring students and staff continue to receive great food and service.
Ms. Cornelius has been successful in creating great working relationships by treating people how THEY want to be treated. She has earned the utmost trust and respect from her colleagues and staff because of her compassionate leadership and exceptional commitment to her team. Brownwood ISD is blessed to have food service staff like Ms. Cornelius who are committed, proud, and go above and beyond serving our students a variety of delicious and nutritious meals.
