The first day of school for four Premiere High School students ended with an after-school rollover accident just outside of Early.

The accident occurred at approximately 3:15 p.m. as the four teens were traveling north on County Road 336, north of Bluebonnet Drive, immediately after school.  The Chevrolet 2500 pickup failed to negotiate the sharp curve in the road and rolled, landing on its side, and eventually flipping back upright according to the occupants of the truck.

All of the teens, two boys and two girls, ages 14-19, were reported to have been wearing their seatbelts and sustained very minor injuries according to Early Chief of Police David Mercer.  One of the teens stated that although he was wearing his seatbelt, he was thrown across another passenger in the pickup and out her window, landing in a clump of cactus.

A teacher’s aide from Premiere High School reported that one of the boys involved in the accident got a ride from the accident scene back to the school to call for help.  She returned to the scene of the accident with the teens and waited for first responders to arrive.

All of the teens were evaluated by Guardian EMS and none were transported according to law enforcement.

Texas Department of Public Safety troopers were investigating the cause of the accident which was undetermined at the scene of the accident.

Early Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the scene of the accident.

Pictured above is the damaged pickup.  Below are more photos from the scene of the accident.
