The Brown County Water Improvement District #1 announced Tuesday that their microfiltration water treatment plant and its operator each received an award recently from the South Central Membrane Association.

John Allen, treatment plant supervisor, recently attended the South Central Membrane Association annual meeting and received the awards.

The treatment plant received the Outstanding Membrane Plant Award in recognition of outstanding plant operations and maintenance and exemplary membrane treatment plant performance.

Allen received the Operator of the Year award from the association in recognition of outstanding plant operations and maintenance.

“This is a very prestigious award,” said BCWID General Manager Dennis Spinks.  “John well deserves that because I know how hard he works at the plant and how knowledgeable he is about that plant.”
