Bryan Jay Smith

Bryan Jay Smith, age 64 of Lampasas (formerly of Brownwood), passed away on Sunday, October 23rd, 2022. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, October 30th at the 4th & Stewart Church of Christ. A visitation meal will be held after the service.

Bryan was born on September 23, 1958, to Freddy and Joyce (Townsend) Smith in Brownwood, Texas. He attended school in Temple and Brownwood. He worked for decades in inventory and purchasing, for JRB, Kohler, and Oil States Rubber.

On August 12, 1995, he married Sherry Brandon, and they made a home raising two children and a grandchild. Bryan enjoyed games and excelled in competitions for bowling, cards, dominos, and chess. He also had a good trivia knowledge, and a great sense of humor. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Bryan is survived by his wife Sherry Smith, children Dean Ledbetter and Deana Sanders, grandchildren Bryce Brandon, Ian Ledbetter, Sarah Ledbetter, Abby Ledbetter, Charles Hunter Jones, great granddaughter Alyia Brandon, step-mother Kathy Smith, brothers Stacy Smith (Deneice), and Raphael ‘Rafe’ Smith (Becky), nephews Josh Holder, Jason Cornelius, Aaron Smith, niece Rachel Smith, aunt Freda Townsend, many cousins and very special friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Freddy Smith and Joyce (Townsend) Smith.

Memorials can be made to St Jude’s Hospital, Shriners/Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, or the Children’s Cancer Research Fund.
