Native American Program to be Presented at Brown County Museum of History August 3rd

nativeamerican brownwood texas brown County museum of historyThe Brown County Museum of History will be presenting “Walk in The Footsteps of the First Texans,” a program for children and all ages about the Native Americans of Brown County.

The museum will host a group from the Texas Botanical Gardens & Native American Interpretive Center on Saturday, August 3, 2013 who will present demonstrations on how arrowheads were made, how the early people prepared food, and many aspects of Native American culture and life.

There will be hands-on activities for children, and this special program can be enjoyed as part of the museum’s regular admission price of $2.

The Brown County Museum of History will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with the Native American sessions at 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 2:30 p.m.

Jan Fischer, Executive Director, and Del Barnett, Archeology Steward for the Native American Interpretive Center will lead the presentations as part of a partnership with the Brown County Museum of History.
