oklahomagirlAccording to information received from Beyond Missing, a Law Enforcement Resource, initial reports of sightings of Aja Johnson in Brady, Texas were misreported due to a data entry error.   A spokesman with the Texas DPS reportedly acknowledged early Monday night that a data-entry error had been made. While Hobbs does have connections in Texas, neither he nor the girl had been seen in the state.

According to reports coming from an Oklahoma television station’s website, Koco.com, police in four states continue searching for a missing 7-year-old girl.  The news station further reported:

“Aja Johnson’s mother — Tonya Hobbs, 37 — was killed inside a trailer in the southwest Oklahoma town of Geronimo on Sunday night, and then the girl was kidnapped.

Police believe Johnson is with Lester William Hobbs, 46, in a white Toyota Paseo. Authorities are also calling him a person of interest in Tonya Hobbs’ killing. Amber Alerts have been issued in Oklahoma, Texas, California and Oregon — all locations where Hobbs has family or connections.

Hobbs stands about 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighs about 190 pounds. Aja Johnson stands 4 feet tall and weighs about 65 pounds.

Authorities said Johnson was visiting Tonya Hobbs for the weekend. While she was allowed to have supervised visits with her mother, the girl was not supposed to be around Lester Hobbs at all.

The pair may be in a white 1992 Toyota with a license plate number 577-BPW. The rear window of the vehicle might be broken out with plastic covering.

According to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections Web site, Hobbs has many tattoos:

BIC: TAT L HEARTS
BUT: TAT L ROSE, HEART
CHE: TAT C EAGLE WINGS LIVE TO BE FREE
FGR: TAT L TOP LOVE ACROSS ALL FINGERS
FGR: TAT R TOP ROSE ACROSS ALL FINGERS

SHL: TAT R ROSE

If you know where Aja Johnson or Lester Hobbs might be, call 911.”
