The Lyric Theatre’s summer musical “The Wizard of Oz” will begin its second and final week of performances on Thursday with five more shows on the schedule.

Advanced tickets can be purchased for one of the performances online at BrownwoodLyricTheatre.com or at the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce located at 600 E. Depot St.  The cost is $15 per ticket and $10 each for student tickets.

Upcoming performance dates include July 25, 26, 27 at 7:30 PM and July 26, 28 at 2:30 PM at the Dorothy McIntosh Fine Arts Center auditorium at Brownwood High School.

The Wizard of Oz tells the bewitching tale of a girl named Dorothy from Kansas, who, along with her pet dog Toto, finds herself in a distant and magical land after a powerful tornado strikes her family’s farm house and whips her away to Oz.

Meeting friends along the way such as the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion; Dorothy journeys down the yellow brick road in search of the Wizard in the hope of finding her way back home to Kansas.
