Local Teams Eliminated as TTAB 8U State Tournaments Continue – Photos

Texas Teenage Baseball Association tournaments finished day two of a pair of state tournaments Tuesday after some tough losses for all local teams, wrapping up their tournament runs.

In the TTAB 8U Machine Pitch state tournament, the Brownwood Giants and Brownwood Cardinals each were eliminated after their second losses.

The Giants fell 19-11 to the Edgewood Dirt Dawgs after a hard-fought game.  The Cardinals were defeated by the Alba Golden Panthers 24-16 in a back and forth game.

Other game results Tuesday for the 8U Machine Pitch state tournament include: Rogers Eagles 8, BMC Warriors 7; Rusk Rangers 15, Mexia Texans 1; Blooming Grove Lions 16, Hillsboro Bad News Bears 8; Whitney Wildcats 15, Comanche Rangers 4; Harker Heights Hot Rods 16, Temple Aces 8; Hillsboro Bad News Bears 16, Pleasant Grove Cardinals 1; BMC Warriors 11, Harker Heights Hot Rods 10; Mexia Texans 23, Alba Golden Panthers 8; and Comanche Rangers 17, Edgewood Dirt Dawgs 2.

Games continue Wednesday morning at the Bert V. Massey II Sports Complex at 11 AM when Rogers Eagles will face the Rusk Rangers and Blooming Grove Lions will play the Whitney Wildcats in the winners’ bracket while the BMC Warriors play the Mexia Texans and the Hillsboro Bad News Bears will face Comanche Rangers in the loser’s bracket.

In the TTAB 8U Player Pitch state tournament taking place at Early City Park, the Early Red Sox had one victory and one loss eliminating them from the tournament Tuesday.

The Red Sox took out the Eustace Mullins 8-6 to start their Tuesday games but were eliminated after an 11-8 loss to the Bosqueville Warriors.

Other game results Tuesday for the 8U Player Pitch state tournament include: Cameron Astros 14, Malakoff Orioles 4 and Bosqueville Warriors 10, Copperas Cove Rangers 4.

The tournament continues Wednesday at 6 PM when the Malakoff Orioles face the Bosqueville Warriors in the losers’ bracket.  The winner of that game will move on to face the Cameron Astros for the championship.
