A member of the Brown County Sheriff’s Department and member of the Brownwood Fire Department received the Quarterly First Responder Award on Monday morning during a meeting of Commissioners Court.

Saydie Bradley is a deputy at the Brown County Sheriff’s Office where she has diligently served her community for the past four years.  In nomination letters on her behalf, it noted she has received several other nominations including “40 Under 40” and “Deputy of the Year” over the course of her career.

“Saydie not only goes above and beyond on the job but also off duty as she is always willing to give a helping hand to any and every person she comes into contract with.  She consistently wears her uniform and badge with pride; but Saydie continuously embodies the attitude, character and compassion of a true servant at all times.”

From the Brownwood Fire Department, Steve Adkins was recognized for his faithful service of 15 years to the citizens of Brownwood.  During that time, he has earned the title of Master Firefighter and was promoted to Fire Driver.

“He works hard to be a mentor to new, rookie firefighters and be a leader to all he encounters.  He is always willing to help anyone in any way he can, on duty and off duty.”

Adkins and Bradley each received certificates and a $100 gift card to United Supermarket from North Lake Community Church in May, Texas.  The Quarterly First Responder Award is chosen by the Brown County Chaplains through the office of Brown County Emergency Management.
