Diana Dove Edwards, age 79, passed peacefully on to her heavenly life on October 4, 2022. She was born October 27, 1942 in Duncan, Oklahoma to O.L. and Helen Dove.

Diana is survived by her brother, Richard Dove and wife Betty Ruth of Houston, Texas; sister Dana Lomonaco of Texas; son Dayne Edwards and wife Sherri of Cedar Creek, Texas, son Deron Edwards and wife Julie of Bangs, Texas; grandchildren, Jaysen Edwards, Brian Edwards, Trey Tijerina, Ashley Edwards and Ron Lee, Cheyenne Hoskinson and husband Justin, Kodi Edwards and Tanner Collett, and Evan Johnson; great grandchildren Rhett Hoskinson, Aurora Tijerina, Ryker Hoskinson, Everett Edwards, Riley Hoskinson, and Evie Tijerina. Diana is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Diana is preceded in death by her parents and the father of her children, Deral Edwards.

Diana grew up in Austin, Texas and graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 1961. She married Deral Edwards and lived in Bangs, Texas for almost twenty years. While in Bangs, she worked at the Brown County Gazette newspaper and raised her two sons. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bangs and was a member of the choir.

After leaving Bangs in 1984, she lived in several places before settling in Bastrop, Texas for over 20 years. She worked in property management for most of her time there and even took a part time job doing that after retirement.

Diana returned to Bangs in July of 2020 to be near her grandchildren and great grandchildren. At the time of her passing she lived at Pecan Bayou Nursing and Rehab, where they took excellent care of her.

Diana was a woman of many talents including: sewing, painting, building furniture and many other abilities and talents. She loved time with her family and friends and never met a stranger. If she was not spending time around family then she was quilting or just using her many talents to make something for which most of the time she would give away. She loved to see the smiles of her family or friends when they would receive something beautiful, she created.

The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to all the care and love she has received from medical staff and friends. Diana’s wishes were to have her ashes spread on the two places she dearly loved to be. In the upcoming months we will be hosting a barbecue and family and friends are welcome to attend.

Services are entrusted to Heritage Funeral Home Davis-Morris Chapel.
