Miranda Northcutt (7) and the Lady Lions (4-19, 0-4) begin the second half of 6-4A action 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11 at home against Glen Rose.

MINERAL WELLS – The Brownwood Lady Lions remained winless in District 6-4A action at the halfway point of the league schedule Tuesday night, suffering a 25-9, 25-11, 25-12 road loss to Mineral Wells.

The Lady Lions (4-19, 0-4) have a district bye Friday, then open the second half of league play at home at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11 against Glen Rose. Brownwood’s final four district contests will all be at Warren Gym, and the Lady Lions will need to pull off some upsets to avoid missing the playoffs for the first time since 2012.

Deen and Kassidy Wooten both served a pair of aces while Choate contributed one.

Ringer’s eight assists were a team-best while Felux and Wooten chipped in one apiece.

Defensively, Wooten and Ringer led the way with 13 digs apiece followed by Deen with nine, Felux with five, Choate with three, Molly Oliver with three, and Adryanna Huerts with two digs.

Deen, Northcutt and Aniah Hines each finished with one block.
