A fatality accident just after midnight on Wednesday, Sept. 21 at CR 257, eight miles northwest of Early, claimed the life of 43-year-old Michael Ray Reeves of Brownwood, according to information provided Friday by the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Reeves was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected according to the DPS report, while another passenger in the car, 37-year-old Rachel Lynn Miers, was wearing a seatbelt and survived the accident.

The preliminary investigation concluded a 1998 Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling south on CR 257 when it approached a right-hand curve in the roadway and lost control, leaving the east side of the road into a ditch striking two trees.
