Traffic was backed up for a short time on E. Commerce as emergency personel responded to a minor traffic accident in front of McDonalds on Monday afternoon.

Shortly after 2:00 p.m., an SUV and a passenger sedan collided resulting in the driver of the sedan being taken to Brownwood Regional Medical Center for treatment.   Two occupants of the SUV were reported to be uninjured.

The accident caused damage to the front passenger quarter panel of the sedan and damage to the front end of the SUV.  The sedan was towed from the scene.

Traffic was backed up several blocks as emergency responders worked the accident scene.  A funeral procession from Early to Greenleaf Cemetery was rerouted to avoid the delay caused by the accident.  Brownwood Police Department, Brownwood Fire Department and Guardian EMS responded to the scene.

Pictured above are the damaged vehicles and emergency responders checking on one of the drivers.  Below is the scene of the accident with traffic backed up.
