smith_edEd Lane Smith, age 64, of Brownwood passed away at Abilene Regional Medical Center Monday May 20, 2013.

Services for Ed will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday May 24, 2013 at Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel with David Barnum officiating, interment will follow at Varga Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday evening at Blaylock Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m.

Ed was born in San Angelo, TX on February 1, 1949 to Albert “Spud” and Alva Lois Smith. He graduated from Brookesmith High School. Ed worked at the Austin Speed Shop for many years. He had a passion for racing and fixing/restoring cars and motorcycles.

He leaves behind his wife Vicki Smith of Brownwood; two daughters Kim Flores and husband Paul of Cisco, Stacey Lamb and husband Robbie of Farwell, TX; five grandchildren Brookylnn Lamb, Chase Lamb, Brayden Flores, Katelyn Flores, and Jaclyn Flores; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, a host of friends, and his favorite dogs Jax and Bingo.

Preceded in death by his parents; maternal grandparents Estelle and Walter Barkley; paternal grandparents Emmitt and Sally Smith.

Online condolences may be left for the family at www.blaylockfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home.
