shipleywithteamarticleBrownwood Lions head coach and athletic director Bob Shipley was selected to coach in this summer’s FCA 11th Annual Greathouse Big Country FCA All-Star Classic football game.  Shipley will coach the South squads while coach Joe Gillespie of Stephenville was picked to head up the North.

Assisting Shipley will be Brad Bowden (Grape Creek), Brent Davis (San Angelo Central), Sterlin Gilbert (San Angelo Lake View) and Chuck Lipsey (Bangs).

Assisting Gillespie will be Brian Hulett (Eastland), Stacey Martin (Coahoma), Phillip Ritchey (Big Spring) and Gunter Rodriquez (Olney).

Eastland’s Rodney Gee will coach the North team and Tri Danley of Wylie will lead the South in the girls basketball game.

Both All-Star games take place June 12, and proceeds will benefit the Big Country chapter of Fellowship of Christian Athletes. The football game will once again be played at Shotwell Stadium with the basketball game at Moody Coliseum on the Abilene Christian campus on June 12th.

All-Star Players selections for the games will be announced in February.
