leonardCarolyn Leonard, beloved mother, nana, sister, aunt and friend went to rest in the arms of her Savior on Monday, April 22, in Abilene, Texas. Services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday April 25, 2013, at Davis-Morris Funeral Home, 800 Center Ave., Brownwood. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday at Davis-Morris. Her final resting place will be at Eastlawn Memorial Park in Early.

Carolyn Jo Baker was born the oldest of seven children to R.L. and Jo Ann Baker in Coleman, Texas. She grew up in Valera and graduated from Talpa Centennial High School in 1963. She married James Leonard on December 23, 1976. Carolyn graduated from nursing school as an LVN in 1978 and her first nursing job was at BRMC in the nursery. She then worked for Dr. Seale Cutbirth for many years, and then later for Oak Ridge Manor as documentation nurse.

James and Carolyn have been long time members of Calvary Baptist Church where Carolyn sang in the choir. She was known for her love of Elvis Presley and has an extensive collection of Elvis memorabilia.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, R.L. and Jo Ann Baker. She is survived by her love, James Leonard, her four sons, Mark Mayo and wife Tessie, Jerry Leonard and wife Anja, Doug Leonard and wife Valerie and Duane (Punk) Mayo and wife Maribeth, all of Brownwood. James and Carolyn were blessed with 8 grandchildren: Krystal Wingard of Madison, Alabama, Caleb Mayo of Austin, Tx, Lynn Leonard, Danny Lee Hogue, Andrea Leonard, Natalie Mayo, Madison Mayo, and Hunter Leonard, all of Brownwood. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Breylan Hogue and Jasmine Wingard.

Carolyn had four sisters; Brenda Dyer, Gwen Hobbs, Linda Moore and husband  Lee,  Patricia Morgan and husband Matt; and 2 brothers; Danny Baker and wife Judy and Randy Baker and wife Pam.

She is also survived by sister and brothers-in-law Lonnie and Sue Leonard, Randall and Cathy Dutton, Carl and Sherry Leonard and Carolyn McGee, along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday April 25, 2013, at Davis-Morris Funeral Home, 800 Center Avenue.  Visitation is scheduled from 6 PM to 8 PM Wednesday at the funeral Home.
