The Early High School Band earned 1st Divisions from all judges at the UIL Band Concert and Sight-reading Contest in Llano on April 11.

A 1st Division indicates a superior performance and is the highest rating a band can receive.

Combined with the 1st Division ratings in Marching during the fall, these 1st Divisions earned the band the coveted “Sweepstakes” award. This marks the second consecutive year the band has earned the “Sweepstakes” award.

The last time an Early Band earned a “Sweepstakes” two consecutive years was 1980.  The EHS Band Seniors of 2013 will be graduating as one of the most successful band classes in school history.  They have helped to propel the Band to unprecedented successes over the past four years.
