Brownwood Area Community Garden to offer Class on Growing Sprouts

IMG_6389The public is invited to attend a class to be held at the Brownwood Area Community Garden on “Growing Spouts:  The How and Why,” which will be held this Saturday, April 13th at 11:00 AM.

The class will teach participants the nutritional benefits of sprouts, how to grow them in the kitchen, what to sprout and where to get supplies.  The cost of the class is $10.  Debra Mathis, Community Garden Board Member and Community Gardener will be the class’s instructor.

Volunteers and visitors who wish to participate in the regular 2nd or 4th Saturday “Visit or Volunteer event, please plan to be at the garden between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM and plan to stay for a few minutes or an hour or two.  There will be plenty to do to get the garden ready for the Annual Spring Festival that will be held on April 20th.

The Brownwood Area Community Garden is located at Dublin Street, inside the Brownwood Housing Authority Park Homes.  Please park behind the Central Texas Opportunities building, or call 641-9029 for easy directions.
