The HPU Social Work Club began their annual Cinderella Project Prom Dress Giveaway on Friday, at Howard Payne’s Girling Center for Social Justice located on Austin Avenue next to the Academy of Freedom.   The project continues Saturday, 10 AM-2 PM.

Through this annual project, HPU’s social work club helps girls who cannot afford to purchase prom dresses find the dress to make them feel like Cinderella.  This year over 100 dresses in various styles and sizes are available to choose from.  The program is offered to any girl from Brown or the surrounding counties who cannot afford a prom dress.

Donations of formal dresses came from students, faculty and staff of HPU.  Toni Damron, Assistant Social Work Professor at HPU, is the club sponsor.

The HPU Social Work Club consists of over a dozen members who are social work majors.  Pictured at top are some of the club members who are helping with the Cinderella Project.  Pictured are Rebekah Steadman, Tonya Bloomer, Heather Clayton, and Shannon Bundy.
