The City of Brownwood recently announced the hiring of Dana Sons as the new Director of Information Technology. With over 20 years of experience in Information Technology, Dana brings a wealth of knowledge to the position and is looking forward to serving the community. Previously Dana has worked as the Manager of Technical Information Services for Lewisville ISD, the Director of Technology Services for the City of Denison, the Technology Director for Era ISD, and the Director of Information Technology for Cooke County.

Dana’s experience and technical skills include network infrastructure, cabling, enterprise device planning, information systems, project management, extensive GIS knowledge, believes heavily in end-user training, in addition to security and hardware.

“We are excited to have Dana join the City of Brownwood team,” Brownwood City Manager Emily Crawford said. “She has excellent experience and knowledge. Most importantly, she lives out the ideals we strive to attain in the ISERVE core values.”

Dana was raised in Cross Plains, Texas, and attended school there through her formative years. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Information Systems and Ethics from Mid-America Christian University, a Master of Business Administration from Texas Woman’s University, and will complete her Master of Leadership this summer from Carolina University.
