BowlForKidsSake2013LogoTeams have organized and are working to raise funds for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Brown County’s 7th Annual Bowl for Kids’ Sake at Academy Lanes in Brownwood set for April 6th.

Teams of 5-6 bowlers work to raise $100 or more per member, raising money individually or collectively to benefit BBBS.  After donations are turned in on April 1st, the teams celebrate their success during two sessions, 10 a.m. or noon, at Bowl for Kids’ Sake on April 6th.

Virtual Bowling is an option this year for those who wish to help out on their own. Raise money to support BBBS and compete for prizes and awards against other virtual bowlers.

For more information about the event or to donate, call the BBBS office at 325-643-5600.

Academy Lanes, KOXE, Cici’s Pizza and Pepsico host the celebration. Sponsorships from local businesses help to underwrite the event. T-shirts, awards, prizes and a silent auction are made possible through local donors.

Research shows that through the positive impact of a match relationship, children are more likely to graduate from high school and less likely to engage in high-risk behaviors or use violence in a conflict.  In short, they will have more opportunity to reach their highest potential with the encouragement that an additional adult mentor can add to their life. Volunteers are asked to spend time with a child at least twice a month.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Brown County is a United Way agency primarily supported by local donations. For more information about fundraising or Sponsoring Bowl for Kids’ Sake, or if you would like to be a Big Brother or Big Sister, contact Gina Jameson at 325-643-5600 or [email protected].
