blooddonorlogoResolve to donate blood in 2010. As you’re making your New Year’s resolutions, add blood donation to the list. United Blood Services is challenging you to donate blood at least three times a year. That’s three hours out of your year to save lives. The campaign is part of National Blood Donor Month which is held every January.

If all eligible donors donated three times a year, blood needs could be met and shortages could become a thing of the past. In the United States, sixty percent of the population is eligible to give blood. Unfortunately, only five percent of the eligible blood donor population is donating.

If you plan on losing weight in 2010, you can lose it one pint at a time. Every time you donate blood, you lose one pound. (temporarily at least)

So, make lifesaving a habit and schedule an appointment to donate blood today.

Brownwood Regional Medical Center Blood Drive

To make an appointment, go online, www.bloodhero.com. Enter sponsor code: brmc or call United Blood Services toll free. That number is 1-800-756-0024.
