Floy Berger

Floy Berger, 86, of Coleman, died Saturday, March 26, 2022 at her residence.  The family will host a visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at Stevens Funeral Home, 400 West Pecan Street, Coleman.  Family and friends are invited to a graveside service 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 31, 2022 at the Coleman City Cemetery Pavilion with Rev. Aaron Mitchell, pastor of Concho Baptist Church, officiating.  Interment will following the Coleman City Cemetery.  Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home in Coleman.

She was born Floy Lee Blankenship on August 27, 1936 in Durant, Oklahoma to William Blankenship and Jewel Floy Miller Blankenship.  Floy grew up in Hobbs, New Mexico and graduated from Hobbs High School.  On April 2, 1960, Floy married Sidney Berger in Hobbs.  Floy and Sidney moved to Coleman in 1990.  Floy retired from General Telephone Electric where she worked as a telephone operator.

Floy was a loving mother to her children.  She enjoyed reading and putting puzzles together.  She also enjoyed all kinds of crafts—needlepoint, crochet, knitting and making ceramics.  She was a member of Concho Baptist Church.

Preceding Floy in death are her husband, Sidney; two sons, Ronnie Berger, DeWayne Berger; two brothers, J.C. Mann, James Taylor and one grandson, Johnathan Berger.

Floy is survived by four children, Kenneth Taylor of Hobbs, New Mexico, Lonnie Berger of Coleman, Sherry Stewart of Coleman and Glenda Miller of Coleman.  Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, Mandy Taylor, Willie Stewart, Bradley Stewart, Christian Berger, Sarah Lenz, David Berger, Sharon Vickers, Benjamin Berger, Matthew Dillard, Keith Dillard and numerous great grandchildren.
