Tommie Funderburg

Tommie Funderburg, age 72, of Coleman, died Sunday, March 13, 2022, at Hendrick Hospice in Abilene.

The family will host a visitation at 12:30 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2022, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2022, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel. Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, 400 W. Pecan Street, in Coleman.

He was born Tommie Lee Funderburg on December 28, 1949, in Coleman to Claudie Lee Funderburg and Mary Margaret Parkis Funderburg. Tommie grew up in Coleman where he attended school. As a child, Tommie enjoyed spending time with his grandparents and his uncle James. They would go fishing, swimming, and play horseshoes. Tommie was a life-long resident of Coleman where he became a fixture in the community. He was an avid Coleman Bluecats fan and attended all the sporting events. He loved to visit with everyone and had many friends. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Coleman.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Claudie “C.L.” and Mary Funderburg; and his brothers, David Funderburg, Daryl Wayne Funderburg, and Larry Don DeBusk.

Tommie is survived by two brothers, Michael Funderburg of Coleman, and Steven Funderburg of Benbrook; one sister, Susan Culpepper and husband Jerry Don of Zephyr; and multiple nieces and nephews.

Memorials are suggested in memory of Tommie to the First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 983, Coleman, Texas 76834.
