GRAHAM – The Brownwood Lady Lions split their first two games at the Graham softball tournament Thursday, rallying after squandering a five-run lead to defeat Archer City, 10-9, followed by a 10-0 defeat at the hands of Pampa.

In the opener, the Lady Lions (8-4) raced out to a 6-1 lead only for Archer to rally, forcing Brownwood to score twice in its final at-bat for the 10-9 victory.

Brownwood finished with 11 hits – four by Chloe Wells; two each by Annie-Klein Allgood and Hailey Eisenhauser ,who both homered; and one each by Mia Lopez, Cecilia Rodriguez and Jeniffer Ramero. Allgood finished with four RBIs trailed by Walls with two and one each from Eisenhauer, Rodriguez and Ramero.

In the circle, Allgood went the distance and allowed two earned runs on seven hits with six strikeouts.

The Lady Lions defense committed three errors.

Against Pampa, the Lady Lions were limited to two hits – one by Lopez and one by Chelsey Covey.

Pampa scored twice in the first inning, five times in the second, added a single run in the third and tacked on its final two runs in the fourth inning.

Allgood pitched all four innings for Brownwood, allowing two earned runs on nine hits with four strikeouts and two walks.

Defensively, the Lady Lions committed five errors.
