The City of Early issued the following press release Tuesday afternoon:

The City of Early continues to see growth as yet another business prepares for construction at the corner of CC Woodson and Early Blvd at the lot beside Taco Casa. The new business that has been announced is PetCo, a health and wellness company for pets.

PetCo is a beloved pet care brand with more than 55 years of service to pets and the people who love and care for them. In recent years, they have embarked on a significant transformation, repositioning their business from a traditional retailer to a disruptive, fully-integrated, digital-focused provider of pet health and wellness offerings. Through their connected ecosystem – which offers premium products, services, veterinary care and membership opportunities – PetCo attracts high value customers in a large and growing addressable market, and create communities that deepen the pet-pet parent bond.

Founded in 1965, PetCo has established more than 1,500 stores nationwide and is excited to build another store with Early, TX as its newest location. The building is expected to be 10,581 square feet and will be positioned on the 2.5-acre lot that is located just to the side of Taco Casa on Early Blvd.

Construction of this new building is already underway as the ground is currently being prepared, leveled and planned for construction.
