Ronald Dean “Munchie” Montgomery 65 of Brownwood passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022. A memorial service will be held 2pm Saturday, March 5th in the Heartland Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John Gowin officiating.
Munchie was born on June 21, 1956 in Austin, TX to Oscar Montgomery and Maudie Withers. He had numerous occupations during his life, which included working at nursing homes, gas stations, restaurants. He was a retired house painter until he became disabled. Munchie loved cooking BBQ, fishing, listening to his music and being around his family and friends.
Munchie is survived by his daughters, Ashley Jones and husband Jonathan of Brownwood, TX and Wendy Reeves of Dim Box, TX; sisters, Virginia Maynard and husband David of Watson, TX, Dorothy Medlock of Florence, TX and Shirley Smith and partner Barry of Bangs, TX; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar Montgomery and Maudie Withers; son Billy Joe Montgomery; daughter Rebecca Everett; granddaughter Nevaeha; sisters, Marie Kirchner and Helen Barrett; brother Donald Montgomery; 2 brother-in-laws, Lee Medlock and Jerry Kirchner; niece Karen Maynard.
