Karen (Smith) Kimbrell

Karen (Smith) Kimbrell, age 71, of Brownwood peacefully passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2022, with her family by her side at home.

Funeral Services for Karen will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 26, 2022, at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor Artie Woodcox officiating; burial will follow at Greenleaf Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Home of Brownwood.

Karen was born on May 3, 1950, in Brownwood. She married the love her of life, Earl Kimbrell, on January 28, 1967, in Brownwood. She was a realtor and broker for many years. Karen attended Calvary Baptist Church.

Karen was a loving wife, mother, grandma, and great-grandma. She loved spending time with her family, they were what made her world go round.

Karen is survived by her husband, Earl Kimbrell of Brownwood; 2 daughters, Dena Hammett and husband Les of San Saba, and Melanie Kellar of Brownwood; 6 grandchildren, Justin Jacobson and wife Megan, Mitchell Jacobson and wife Cassie, David “Stormy” McClimans, Chance Kellar, Callie Valdez and husband Chago, and Jax Kellar; 6 great-grandchildren, Maddy & Mia Jacobson, Emma, Ellie, and Ellis Jacobson, and Hadley Valdez; sister, Juanita Karnes of Brownwood; and brother, Robert Smith Jr. of Brownwood. She is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Smith Sr.
